එම අවස්ථාවට රෝහලේ අධ්යක්ෂතුමා, නියොජ්ය අධ්යක්ෂතුමා, මාණ්ඩලික ශ්රේණියේ ප්රධාන හෙද නිලධාරී තුමිය සහ ප්රධාන පරිපාලන නිලධාරී තුමිය ඇතුළු පිරිස සහභාගී වූහ.
Although the master’s service commenced in 1960, it was not active at the beginning. However by 1970 and 1980 regional unions were established. Among them the Central Lanka Master Teachers’ union and the southern master Teachers’ union became very prominent.
In the year 2000 all the I.S.As’ gathered at Nissanka Vidyalaya in Kurunegala formed the All Island Teachers’ trade union, irrespective of race and political parties dispersing the regional unions that had been there. Today All Island Teachers’ trade union sets an example to the other unions as it has been functioning irrespective of party politics and race with all the members rounded up under one union since it was established.
